About dueWest Kraftwerks

Located in the heart of Conway, South Carolina, dueWest Kraftwerks is more than just a shop—it’s a return to integrity. We founded this business to bring back the honesty of American craftsmanship, moving away from the "disposable" culture of modern retail to provide products that are genuine, durable, and fun.

Our Team

We are a collection of friends, each bringing a unique set of tools to the workbench. By combining our different backgrounds, we’ve created a "motley band of misfits" that can tackle almost any creative challenge.

  • Derek Western: Drawing from a career in software development, motorsports, and music, Derek provides the technical spark and creative rhythm that drives our product development.

  • Stephanie Western: With an extensive background in healthcare imaging, Stephanie brings an incredible eye for detail and precision to her work as a multi-disciplinary crafter.

  • Jason Simmons: Jason provides the steady hand of experience. Having built and managed successful nationwide businesses like Legacy Solutions, he ensures our foundation is as solid as our products.

  • Sascha Simmons: The "glue" that holds the Kraftwerks together. As a professional photographer and successful Realtor, Sascha brings vital people skills and a sharp aesthetic eye to everything we do.

We formed dueWest Kraftwerks to provide unique 3D printed products and handmade crafts. We design and create the products that we would want to buy, offering the best possible value and quality that we can proudly stand behind.

What’s in the name?

The “dueWest” name is a tribute to Derek’s late father, who used the phrase as a playful nod to the family name.

“Kraftwerks” is our own spin on "Craftworks." In German, Kraftwerk translates to “Power Plant” or “Power House.” We felt this perfectly described our team: a collective powerhouse of talent, energy, and shared goals.

Our Philosophy:

We believe in a new breed of American small business—one built on traditional values and the simple joy of the creative process.

Hand-Crafted Excellence: Every one of our hand-crafted items is created individually by our team right here in South Carolina. We prioritize quality materials and ethical labor, choosing the steady hand of an artisan over the faceless assembly line. This ensures that every piece has its own character and is built to last.

Modern Innovation We use small-batch 3D printing to bridge the gap between imagination and reality. This technology allows us to be agile—improving our designs in real-time based on customer feedback. By producing locally and finishing every item by hand, we maintain total control over quality and stay responsive to your needs.

The dueWest Difference By keeping our production close to home and our batches small, we avoid the pitfalls of large-scale manufacturing. This allows us to focus on the most important part of our business: your satisfaction.

See the Process: We’ll be launching our YouTube channel and blog over the next few months to take you behind the scenes of our workshop. Stay tuned to see the "Kraftwerks" in action!
